Repeat of AEW 97-1 but with MeCN as solvent to aid solubility.

Conclusion: No conversion observed.

 

To a well stirred solution of AEW 95-1 (100 mg, 0.39 mmol) in MeCN (1 mL) was added PhI(OAc)2 (125 mg, 0.39 mmol) and the resulting reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h - no product on TLC. 3 h, no product. Overnight, still no product. Solvent was evaporated in vacuo. No product.
