Reaction start time: 2:10 PM EST 5/11/12
MD 6-3 (56 mg, 0.19 mmol, 1 equiv.) was stirred in Acetonitrile (5 mL). Thionyl chloride (14 µL, 0.19 mmol, 1 equiv.), Benzylamine (48 µL, 0.33 mmol, 2 equiv) in Pyridine (185 µL) was added after 5 minutes. TLC at 3 PM showed consumption of Benzylamine starting product.

The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. HCl (2 M, 15 mL) was added and the product was extracted using EtoAc (2 × 15 mL), the organic layer was then washed with brine (10 mL), then dried over MgSO4. The mixture was then filtered and the filtrate was concentrated. 1HNMR
